*~*Fate of a Nobody - Part VI*~*


Axel looked like he was having fun, but I honestly couldn’t believe it. He had no heart, right? He was just messing with my head. At the end on that day, I couldn’t help but feel like Axel hadn’t been into town before either. I was pretty hesitant, but I asked him if Roxas had ever taken him into the town before. He just sneered and replied, “Nah… He always had an excuse. ‘I’ve forgotten what it’s like there’, or, ‘I’m not in the mood‘… I don’t think he ever wanted to show me.” He shrugged, looking away and gazing at the sunset. I looked down at the grass, resisting to look at the sunset. I don’t want this to seen like a moment… Soon enough, my curiosity got the better of me, and I lifted my eyes to the horizon. As soon as I did, I felt Axel’s eyes on me. I slowly looked over at him, afraid of what he would say if I tried to make this seem like a moment. He was smirking at me, and by what I could tell, he was enjoying his little moment. He looked back to the sun and sighed. “Today was… fun.”
My eyes widened in surprise. Is he going to say…? He looked down at me and smiled. “Let’s do it again sometime.” He leaned back onto his elbows, making himself comfortable. I stared at him for a moment before leaning back as well. He glanced as me, as if he was going to ask me something, but he just shrugged it off. We sat there until the sun had gone all the way down, then we walked down Sunset Hill and towards the station. Axel looked up at the clock and sighed. “We were supposed to be there about fifteen minutes ago… They better wait for us.” We walked inside the train and sat down on one of the cushiony seats. A couple of people stared and whispered about what I thought was our hair color, so I turned the other way and tried to ignore them. Then I heard them giggle, and turned to see them smiling at us. The woman leaned towards us and said, “You two make a very cute couple.” I felt myself go beet red and looked down. “We’re not a---” I felt Axel put his elbow on my back as he leaned on me, towards them. He smirked and teased, “Yeah, I think we do too. Hey, sixteen---” He put his arm around me and bent down to get me to look at him. “-- Don’t you think we do?” I kept my gaze to the floor and sighed. “Maybe if you could actually say my real name… instead of ‘sixteen’…” He froze for a moment then smiled. “Xipielle.”
I jumped when I heard my name, and slipped off of the seat and onto the floor. I rolled over once and hit my head on a pole, causing a lot of people to look at me like I was crazy. I stood up and smiled awkwardly, hearing Axel laugh. “Maybe I shouldn’t call you by your name…” He said as the train came to a stop at the station in Twilight Town.
We stepped off, spotting Roxas and Xigbar right off the bat. I turned to Axel, smiling. “See? They waited for us!”  I gave Axel a quick grin, then turned around and walked in the direction of our friends, raising my hand to wave. “Hey, Roxas! Uh, Xigbar.” Before I heard Axel walk up behind me, Roxas muttered something angrily, trying to keep it low enough so Xigbar couldn’t hear. Xigbar didn’t look so happy either; almost annoyed.  I was about to ask, but Axel patted Roxas’ shoulder, pulling him along. He opened a portal, looking back to Xigbar and I. “Come on, guys…” Before Axel disappeared behind the dark vortex, I noticed that Axel looked a little annoyed as well. Xigbar walked past me, into the portal after them, and I was left speechless. I was standing there for a couple of minutes, thinking, before walking into the portal as well, leaving all the townsfolk with puzzled looks on their faces.

Axel pulled Roxas behind him into his own room, turning around quickly and changing the coordinates of the portal so Xipielle and Xigbar would end up in the hallway. After making sure it was pretty much closed off so they were alone, he turned back to Roxas. “So…” He said, sitting on his bed. “… What happened with you and Xigbar? Did he make a move on you?” He pat the space on his bed next to him, beckoning him over. Roxas walked over, and instead, sat on the floor in front of Axel. He sighed, crossing his legs. “Yeah. God, I hate him so much…” Roxas ruffled the back of his hair, laughing a little. Axel’s face remained quite serious, and he started up at the ceiling. “… Roxas, watch out for people like him.” Roxas paused for a moment, then turned around a little to face him. “What do you mean? Why?” He watched Axel for a moment, expecting and hoping for an answer, but didn’t get one. He turned back around with a smile, having half a mind to say ‘Never Mind.’
It was silent for about thirty seconds, before Roxas shifted a little, ready to get up to leave. “Well, thanks for the talk.” He moved his feet so that his legs were underneath his thighs, pushing him up to his feet.
A gloved hand pushed him by his head back down, causing him slight pain in his ankles. Roxas winced, turning his head sharply around to look at the redhead that had pushed him back down. “Axel, what’re you--” One finger pressed to his lips, hushing him up fast. He settled down, turning back around like his senses told him, and sat there for a moment until someone spoke up. That person happened to be Axel.
“You’re not going to leave me all alone, are you?” Realizing this was a strange comment, he spoke up before Roxas could say anything. “Don’t leave me alone, Roxas… Every time I’m alone, lately, all I can think about is… Well, I only think about stuff I never really thought about before.” He narrowed his eyes sadly,. Feeling a little confused by his own words. He heard Roxas snigger ad looked up to see him trying his best to hold in a laugh. “Wh… What are you talking about, Axel? You ponder things all the time! You’re always daydreaming when you’re around Xipielle…”
Axel glared at Roxas for a moment, then turn away. That’s because… Sixteen is different…” He shifted his weight a little towards Roxas, his eyes showing he was a little out of it. “But then again, there’s something about her that’s kinda…. Never mind. However…” He smiled, looking Roxas in the eye. “There’s nothing about you I never did like.” Roxas snorted, waving his hand. “Yeah, I know. You blackmailed me when I first became a member, too. Of course, you never kissed me…” He said, a hint of jealousy in his voice.
Axel sighed, wrapping his arms around him with a small chuckle. “Roxas…. You know you’re close to me, and nothing can change that…” one hand came to Roxas’ forehead, leaning his head back so he could look into Axel’s emerald green eyes. Roxas smiled after a moment’s silence, closing his eyes. “Yeah, I know, but… I think you’re falling in love with Xipielle…”
Axel paused, and, ignoring his comment for the moment, kissed Roxas upon the forehead.
“I might….. And that’s why I need you’re help.”
